I’m running for the Tucson City Council Ward 6 office as a new kind of candidate, and I want this to be a new kind of campaign website–a place where we can openly discuss key city issues, where we can point each other to important resources on how we can make life better in Tucson, and a place where we can join together to transform our city government into a creative, enterpreneurial expression of our best hopes as a community.

This site will be continually evolving from now through November 8, and beyond. I want it to be useful, not just in the context of winning a campaign, but also in building community.

We can connect with each other while discussing crucial City issues, and we can use those connections to strengthen our efforts to make our voices heard at every level of government. We can learn about ways we can improve Tucson right away–by finding local independent businesses for our shopping instead of large out-of-town chains, or by linking up to organizations doing good work right now who need our help.

Please fill out our feedback form, volunteer for the campaign, contribute money, and tell everyone you know about this site. It belongs to you, it belongs to us, it belongs to the entire community. Tell us what you want it to be. Tell us what issues you’d like to talk more about. Comment on my blog entries, or even write a guest blog of your own about city issues.

We’re talking democracy at its most basic, and most exciting. That’s why I’m running for office. It’s time to welcome citizens back to City Hall.
