Was Tuesday’s election a referendum on D-M?

Mapping the turnout for Tuesday’s huge electoral victory for two progressive Democrats shows an interesting trend.

Note that most of the precincts with the heaviest turnout are also under the flight path for Davis-Monthan combat jets.

Considering that the D-M noise & safety issues were a huge campaign issue, and Fred Ronstadt in particular took major hits from both Demo candidates for his high-handed dismissal of his constituents’ concerns on noise, health, and property values, could this be the beginnings of a voter revolt to make some major changes at D-M?

Sure could be. City’s blind support of DM is a big problem for quality of life. New council must do much more to make military change routes and better respect Tucsonans.
