A new voice in the Legislature

This November, there will be a vacant State House seat in District 28. I have been urged by a wide spectrum of community leaders to run for that seat, and I have decided that I am ready to serve Tucson in the Arizona Legislature. I am especially honored that Pima County Supervisor Richard Elias is serving as my campaign chair.

I know that it will not be easy to be a Democrat in Phoenix, but I am ready for the challenge. This is a crucial turning point in our state’s history, and we need leaders in our state capitol who can act on behalf of the citizens, not at the behest of a few powerful backers.

Arizona’s citizens are demanding a health care system that works, an education system that works, and a transportation system that works. Tucson’s citizens want our fair share of state money so we can solve our problems in our own way, not at the pleasure of Phoenix. The current Arizona Legislature has not delivered on any of these demands.

I will go to the Legislature as a small-business owner and a father of two children in Arizona public schools, and I will stand up for what is right.
I will challenge the Republicans where they need to be challenged, but I will work with them when they are willing to do the right thing. I will never forget that I am serving not just today’s Arizonans, I am also serving generations to come.

You can send me to Phoenix in four easy steps:

1) Sign my nominating petition (you can request a petition by emailing me at steve@friendsofarley.org)
2) Contribute $5.00 and fill out the Clean Elections form
3) Fill out the volunteer form to tell me how you would like to help
4) Tell your friends!

Last year, we worked together and we took our city back. This is the year we can take our state back. I look forward to working with you to do just that.

You go, boy! If I can have Steve Farley’s brains and balls lurking in the Capitol looking for ways to give the GOP hell for just 20 some grand a year, I’ll take that deal any day! Consider that an endorsement, BTW :)
